Geography

Sundre, Alberta, is located in the scenic foothills of Canada's majestic Rocky Mountains. Our attractive little town lies on the banks of the Red Deer River, in the west-central section of Alberta, and is easily accessible by car from the two nearest cities — Calgary and Red Deer. Located 40km west of the Town of Olds, Sundre is 130km north-west of Calgary or approximately 100km south-west of Red Deer. Sundre is also one of the communities of Mountain View County.

Directions to Sundre

From Calgary

  • Take the Queen Elizabeth 2 Highway (North) and turn off at the Olds Overpass; follow Highway # 27 (West) through the town of Olds and all the way to Sundre.
  • Alternately, Sundre can be accessed from the west side of Calgary on Highway # 22 and Highway # 27, near the small community of Westward Ho.

From Red Deer

  • Take the Queen Elizabeth 2 Highway (South) and turn off at the Olds Overpass; follow Highway # 27 (West) through the town of Olds and all the way to Sundre.
