Sundre Residents > Recreation > Trails

The Town of Sundre maintains approximately twenty-five kilometres of walking/biking/cross country skiing trails. Seventeen of these kilometres are located on Snake Hill, a natural landmark which is preserved for the continued enjoyment of residents and visitors. The trail ratings on the hill range from easy to challenging. Benches are provided for those who wish to rest awhile as they take in the panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

Back to Nature

Other trails in Sundre meander along the banks of the Bearberry Creek and the Red Deer River, often through quiet treed areas where the urban landscape is left behind and only the sounds of nature prevail. Be sure to bring your camera! You never know when you might encounter a shy deer or a young moose browsing in the willows. You might even surprise a Great Blue Heron fishing for his supper.

Spacious Parks

There are also parks and picnic areas in several areas of town, with playgrounds for the children and lovely areas of relaxation for the young at heart.

Information

Information about Sundre's trail system and parks is available at the Visitor Information Centre on the east side of the Red Deer River Bridge or at the Sundre Town Office.
