We have adults interested in the following classes but need a few more before we can go ahead. Please think about it and consider whether or not you (or a friend) might be interested in signing up for a fun 10-week Sessional Adult Dance Class.
Cost for Sessionals is $99 for 10 weeks; no extra registration fees required.
There are no special footwear or clothing requirements for Jazz or Hip Hop. Runners or barefeet and comfortable clothing you can move in will be fine. For Tap, there are some available shoes for sale in our Used Shoe bin for a reasonable price, or you can start off with a low heeled dress shoe to try it out.
Musical Theatre is back, and we are thrilled to announce that students in this class will be performing two musical numbers in our year end shows! Come out to registration and you'll get as pumped as we are about the return of this entertaining class!
We will also have:
Sure did! And we have exciting news!
Sundre Community Dance has hired a new instructor, Kirsti Leibel, who will be teaching the Hip Hop classes and Teen Street Jazz.
Kirsti is also looking forward to teaching a variety of other classes this season including Pre-Tap, Pre-Ballet and Creative Movement & Dance.
Kirsti grew up in Camrose and has been living and working in Edmonton. She comes highly recommended from her last dance job where she taught a students from age 3 to 65 a wide variety of classes. Everyone there was sad to see her go!
Besides Miss Kirsti (see above), Miss Julie, Miss Christine, & Miss Alana will also be returning to teach with Sundre Community Dance this season and look forward to seeing many new and returning faces!
Registration should be the smoothest in our history this year as we have spent many hours getting our Registration Booklet updated and full of all the information that you will need to know so you can have everything filled out and completed prior to even showing up! You should be in and out very quickly! Don't forget to have your schedules completed including:
Fantasy Costumes & Actionwear will be available to assist students with their dancewear and footwear at the Arts Centre on Wednesday night only.
We will also have a Gently Used Table set up for parents & students wanting to sell or purchase shoes or required attire. (Please have your stuff there early, washed, bagged in a Ziploc, and priced ready to go with your name, phone number, size of item, and price you are selling it for.)
You can either delegate someone to register for you if you complete all forms and cheques beforehand, or late registrations will be processed starting Monday, September 10th. at Greenwood Neighbourhood Place. Late registrations are not guaranteed priority placement into classes.
Classes are are held Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays.
We have drafted up a very tentative schedule which is included in the registration booklet. This tentative schedule has been done up just to give parents and students an idea where classes may be placed.
When you are looking at the schedule and you want to know where the classes from last year have tentatively been placed, note that we have named them based on the same names as last year. The names will be changed & upgraded after registration.
For example, if you were in Jazz 2A last year and you want to know where your class would most likely be placed in the schedule, look at the spot labeled Jazz 2A. (Class levels will be upgraded after registration.)
We will also have three instructors and volunteers at registration to assist students and their parents with class placement questions.
Classes will be scheduled after all registrations are received on September 8th. and parents will be contacted by phone by a volunteer confirming your dancer(s)' class days and times. The final class schedule will also be updated on the website by the evening of September 8th.
Christine will be helping Sundre Community Dance with administrative duties related to registration so if you have any questions, she can be reached at 556-1456. Her office hours are Mon-Thurs between 1:00-4:00 pm.
