Mountain View Summer Games Legacy Foundation

The Foundation serves to distribute interest earned from the 1983 Alberta Summer Games Legacy. Grants are offered primarily to:

  • Athletes or artists who require assistance toward elite performance where coaching, instruction or training beyond what is available in the community is needed. Emphasis is on the attainment of a level of performance or skill well beyond the usual recreational or development levels.
  • Students pursuing a course of study in a field related to sport, recreation or culture. Bursaries are dispersed in June.
  • Coaches or instructors who are residents in Mountain View County and who have volunteered their time and expertise toward the benefits of others. These grants are to assist the leader to develop knowledge and skill.
  • Sport and cultural organizations that are involved in exceptional and innovative programs.

The Foundation directors meet in September each year to consider applications. Application forms are available at Town Offices in Mountain View County, from the County Office, at Olds College, or from any Director. Applications may be submitted at any time.
