The Town of Sundre requires all businesses that are operating, working, providing or selling a product or service within or partially within the town corporate boundaries to possess a valid Sundre business license as established in Municipal Business Licensing Bylaw 05.12.

When signing up for a Business License you will also have the choice to join our online Business Directory providing your business with FREE advertising. The business directory listing opportunity is only available to businesses with valid Sundre Business Licenses.

All businesses include all types (no exceptions):  seasonal (e.g. 1 day, 1 week, 4 months), home based, storefront and all non-resident businesses doing any kind of work in Sundre (including all out-of-town businesses serving residents and/or businesses in Sundre via mobile operations such as work vehicles, etc.).

Certain professional services only (eg. Lawyers, Medical Professions, and some members of trade or professional associations , etc.) are exempt by provincial or federal law from the requirement for a business license.  It is your responsibility to determine if you fall under one of these categories.  A license will not be issued until any applicable development or building permits or public health inspection approvals are in place.

All revenues received from the licensing of businesses in the Town of Sundre are used to enhance and improve economic development initiatives and projects in the town.  If you have any questions, or to obtain a Business License application form, please do not hesitate to contact us at 403-638-3551, email economic.development@sundre.com or download an Application Form.
